Kelanie Murphy is from Crystal Lake, Illinois, where she began her formal training at Judith Svalander School of Ballet. She continued her training at the University of Missouri Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance. While at UMKC, she danced with Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company and performed with the Kansas City Ballet. After graduating magna cum laude with a BFA in dance, Kelanie joined the Minnesota Ballet where she danced for four seasons then Madison Ballet where she danced for three seasons before moving to Omaha to dance with American Midwest Ballet. Kelanie has served on the faculty of the Minnesota Ballet School, the School of Madison Ballet, the Monona Academy of Dance, and she also enjoyed working for New York State Summer School of the Arts and Summer Dance Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Kelanie is thrilled to be a part of the NCDS faculty.
Kogan Murphy began her dance training in Crystal Lake, IL, at Judith Svalander’s school of Ballet. After graduating high school, Kogan went on to train with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago then moving on to Ballet Theatre of Indiana as a company member. Kogan is currently starting her fourth season with American Midwest Ballet. In addition to dancing, Kogan is also heavily involved with the Miss America Organization holding many local titles throughout the past few years. Miss Murphy has won Preliminary Talent awards as well as Overall Talent award using her original choreography. Kogan has been teaching and choreographing for the past 7-8 years and is thrilled to be a part of Nebraska City Dance studio!
Michelle Ostmann is from a small town near Lincoln, NE where she began musical theater and dance at the age of 5. Her main styles of dance have always been in musical theater, hip hop, contemporary, and tap. She started assisting and doing dance choreography across the state at the age of 13. She has taken master classes several of which include choreographers from SYTYCD. After performing in multiple musical theater productions in California, she attended a top musical theater dance program (OCU), where her professional dance career was cut short from an injury. Most recently Michelle has been teaching adult hip hop classes, advancing her acro/stunt skills in Lincoln, NE and also teaching dance in Elkhorn, NE. Michelle is excited to be back in Nebraska to share her dance journey and passion at Nebraska City Dance Studio near where she lives now with her three kids and husband.
Sarah Bogle is from Nebraska City, NE and is a 2021 Graduate from Nebraska City High School. She is attending Nebraska Wesleyan University, majoring in Elementary Education. Sarah is continuing her dance career by being a member of the Wesleyan Dance Team. Sarah began her dancing career at 7 years old under the direction of Donna Whitesel with Danceworks. Sarah has also received dance instruction from Motion 41 and Nebraska City Dance Studio. Her dance background includes a variety of dance forms, such as Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Lyrical, Modern, Jazz and Hip Hop. This is Sarah's 4th year instructing young dancers that are beginning their dance journey. Dance is a very important part of Sarah's life and she can't wait to share the joy of dance with her dancers.
Nora started dancing in Saratoga Springs, NY at the age of three. She studied at Ballet Regent, Saratoga City Ballet and Myers Ballet School until moving to Carlisle, PA to train at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet under Marcia Dale Weary. While training she also attended summer intensives at American Ballet Theater, Miami City Ballet, New York State Summer School of the Arts, CPYB and Saratoga and Vail Summer Dance Intensives. After receiving her Bachelor in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati she danced with Akjun Ballet Theater in NYC. Nora then joined American Midwest Ballet in Omaha in 2016 and is currently a company dancer.
